Afghan headless conjoined twin

The baby was born at a hospital in Kunduz, northern Afghanistan on Monday with his headless twin attached at his chest. The attached second body was alive for the first few days but not stay long. This is a first case in Kunduz province.

They was separated by the doctors to save the life of the fully formed child. His mother, 35, who has another 4 children was not telling her name and hid her face from cameras.

Afghanistan is one of the world's highest rates of mother and child mortality during labour, mainly because of poor maternal healthcare in a destitute country devastated by decades of civil war.
