Zheng Dexun, a Chinese farmer from Langzhong, had the shock of his life recently when he pulled out a man-shaped knot weed plant from amongst his crops. Stretching out to 62 centimeters, this particular plant consisted of a knobby head joined to a slender body that tapered down.
The head itself had protruding bits for the eyes and nose area. As for the body, there were distinguishable arms and legs as well as a bumpy little package.
The bemused farmer is not sure if he should count his blessings or be wary of impending bad luck.
Zheng said: "I don't know whether it is good or bad to dig out a Chinese knot weed that looks like a human. I'd better put it back in the earth!"
This is not the first time someone has dug out a strangely shaped fleece flower variety in their garden.
In December 2008, a browsing customer stumbled upon a knot weed 'couple' in China's Shandong.
This root consisted of two human-shaped bits where one resembled a female with its defined upper torso and the other looked masculine with its dangling member.
This particular specimen was nabbed by an enterprising customer for 600 yuan whereby he has set up a viewing spot in his home for eager visitors.
