The big ben has become ice? Not exactly, but the sculpture of Big Ben is made from ice is being created. What is the main puprose of it i don't know. Maybe they're just boring :D
Telegraph.co.uk - An ice sculpture of Big Ben is being created as part of a scaled model of the London skyline. The sculpture is one of five being completed across the UK, each a recreation of a landmark.
The London monument is being assembled in the capital's Covent Garden piazza as part of a scaled-down reconstruction of the city's skyline, also featuring Canary Wharf, Big Ben, Tower Bridge, The London Eye, St Paul's Cathedral and the Gherkin. The creation, measuring 10m in length and 3m in height, was being put together by some of the world's top ice sculptors who worked through the night to carve structures using a mixture of clear and white ice.

Meanwhile in Glasgow, preparations were being made for an ice carving of the Armadillo, measuring 8m by 2.4m, to be displayed in the city's Buchanan Galleries.
In Edinburgh, the Forth Bridge will be painstakingly constructed on the rooftop of the city's Prince's Street Mall. Manchester's futuristic Urbis will be unveiled at its shopping centre, The Great Northern, and in Liverpool's equivalent - Liverpool One - an ice replica of the top of the Liver Building will soon be on display.
Sculptor Duncan Hamilton said: ''This is the first time we have been asked to design and produce a project of this scale.
''The challenge to present such unique large sculptures in five city centres, at the same time and on the same day is wonderful.''
Weighing up to an 3.5 tonnes, each sculpture was expected to take four men about five hours to assemble and carve. The ice blocks for the sculptures were prepared in giant freezers in south west London, ahead of transportation to the five cities.
The scaled-down replicas will be unveiled by the Smirnoff Co in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester, Liverpool and London on September 11.
The unveiling will coincide with the launch of two new flavours of vodka and the frozen monuments will incorporate limes, green apples and frozen bottles of Smirnoff vodka.
Once completed, they will be on show day and night until the ice melts and the landmarks disappear.
