Free 3d software to design 3d landscape easily

For 3d artists, there are freeware to design 3d landscape easily and the result is so astonishing, like a real landscape. Just by appropriate setting and adjustments, you can design 3d landscapes like mountain, river, ground and so on easily and beautifully. I'm so impressed with this Freeware, not only it is just FREE, but also very small in size and can produce nice results.

Introducing Terragen from Planetside Software. Here what is written in a review website of the product.

It is a scenery generator, produced with the goal of generating photorealistic landscape imagery and animations. It is available for Windows and the Mac OS. Terragen is free for personal, noncommercial use. Although Terragen is a repeatedly evolving work-in-progress, it is already capable of near-photorealistic results for professional scenery visualization, special effects, art and recreation.

Terragen has been used in a selection of commercial applications including film, television and music videos, games and multimedia, books, magazines and print advertisements.
Despite the fact that Terragen can be used for professional landscape visualization projects, it is easy to get to and easy to get started with. You could be rendering your first landscape picture in as little as 15 minutes after installation. Terragen has a native user interface, using facilities provided by the operating system of the respective platform, as opposed to the custom user interfaces used by many similar applications.

What it can do

1. Intuitive user-interface - Extremely easy to use layout, along with realistic default settings, allows the creation of good-looking scenes within seconds of starting the program.

2. Random fractal terrain - Controllable parameters allow extremely varied terrain shapes. Can also be used to 'fill in' realistic terrain on a user-defined landscape.

3. High detail foreground texturing - The rendering engine allows extreme close-ups of landscape details with automatic level of detail adjustment.

So for 3d artists, you can make a landscape with Terragen first and then combine with other softwares like 3d Studio Max, Lightwave, Poser, Daz 3D and so on. All the best :)
