Iraqi trader gets back 10 kg of gold

The administration of the Dubai international airport has returned 10 kilograms of gold to an Iraqi trader who left behind his precious parcel while leaving for home, a UAE-based newspaper reported on Sunday.

The trader was carrying a total of 300 kg of gold but left 10 kg behind, Gulfnews said. The airport police discovered the gold worth several hundred thousand U.S. dollars, apparently forgotten by the Iraqi trader, along with his passport copy, the paper said.

The police immediately got in touch with the trader, using information on his passport copy, before the plane took off. As a result, the trader was able to take the gold back with him, the paper said.
